Let Me Game in Peace! Xbox One’s Latest Update includes a Do Not Disturb Button

A new update will soon be on the way for Xbox One gamers adding a new ‘do not disturb’ mode to add to their kits in an effort to fight distractions while gaming, including muting notifications and other distracting pop-ups while gaming or watching a movie.

Microsoft has reported that this new feature will allow gamers to show their friends that they are in do not disturb mode, muting unnecessary invites or messages.


Announced also with this update is a new quick access dashboard for the Xbox One, providing a fast way to view game content, group posts and achievements. Further to this update, a handy new ‘Next Achievements’ feature highlights which still remain locked.

More new additions to this update include the ability to schedule light and dark themes to activate during the day and evening and improved automatic shutdown features. There has also been reported to be some “additional experimental” features, although scarce details are known of this at this stage.

All of these improvements are planned to roll out to alpha ring testers before public roll out publicly.
